Lyrics 5/26/20 (not sung) THE HEIRESS' EXCESSIVE DOUBLE DECKER PENTHOUSE (c) 2020 by Nick Bensen It's rare to meet someone With so much But also really good at sharing A Brahmin artist's eye With aristocratic bearing Weapons made them very rich Her mother made them caring She could have owned two billion of The tie-dye she was wearing This is my ticket out of this dump! Wait, what, Croton?! And the mumps?! Mom don't take my special friend Please don't make this good thing end Take me back to the heiress' Excessive double decker penthouse Take me back to the heiress' Excessive double decker penthouse I loved the view from Riverside The Romanesque redstone Inside the girl's own bedroom A carousel and throne She showered me with riches And said we were engaged Ripped out of that dreamland Bewildered and enraged This is my ticket out of this dump! Wait, what, Croton?! And the mumps?! Mom don't take my special friend Please don't make this good thing end Take me back to the heiress' Excessive double decker penthouse Take me back to the heiress' Excessive double decker penthouse I never heard of her again Not even on the news With all her endless money You'd think I'd find some clues

Lyrics 5/23/20 (not sung) HARDSCRABBLE HILL (1974 Northern Westchester Psychotherapists' Working Brunch Massacre) (c) 2020 by Nick Bensen "I don't know - it looks like everyone is screwed up these days." "What did you say, young man?!!!" Molestation thinly veiled Drinking wine and eating snails Give the speech then I can bail Epic psychotherapy fail 1967 was seven years ago 1967 was seven years ago 1967 was seven years ago Don't even ask what else I know Evil breath, disgusting cheese Predators who lie with ease Forced me to capitulate My mind is numb, my rage is great 1967 was seven years ago 1967 was seven years ago 1967 was seven years ago Don't even ask what else I know Revulsion Sickness Horror Betrayal Revenge Murder Blood Assail 1967 was seven years ago 1967 was seven years ago 1967 was seven years ago Don't even ask what else I know Enchanted castle across the road Never know what might unfold Rather be with my age girls To see what's out there in the world

Lyrics 5/26/20 (not sung) INTO THE DRINK, THEN UNDER THE ICE (c) 2020 by Nick Bensen Riding out by the reservoir On my bike Got hit by a car Thrown into the water From a fearsome height Climbed back up With all of my might Could have been killed But was mostly alright Lived another day to fight Didn't expect a shot of bad luck twice Into the drink, then under the ice Saving a good life felt so nice Jumping in after him under the ice Little bit later I took a ride Out to Camp Rainbow On the far north side Sean and me And his friend Greg Tried to balance On empty kegs Skated on a pond For something to do Heard a crack Sean went right through Didn't expect a shot of bad luck twice Into the drink, then under the ice Saving a good life felt so nice Jumping in after him under the ice I was lucky enough To do the right thing A better, braver me stepped in Everything turned out okay I was hailed as a hero That fateful day. I learned on Facebook That Sean had died But always remained A wonderful guy Didn't expect a shot of bad luck twice Into the drink, then under the ice Saving a good life felt so nice Jumping in after him under the ice

Lyrics 5/23/20 (not sung) THOUSAND ACRE WOODS (c) 2020 by Nick Bensen Most folks live in town Or a different neighborhood I'm out here all alone In my thousand acre woods I've got a hollow log And a rope swing on a cliff Picking up the traps Set by that corrupt sheriff Mobsters cut our grove The dentist shot my dog My dad fell off the porch My cousin squashed a frog It takes more than an hour To walk down to a store Across the road from my woods Is a thousand acres more Sometimes things are bad Sometimes things are good Either way it's me My albums and the woods Most folks live in town Or a different neighborhood I'm out here all alone In my thousand acre woods I know every hidden secret Of my parents' room Sipping on a scotch I smoke a big white plume Our here on my own Up to no damn good Do just what I want Don't know if I should Most folks live in town Or a different neighborhood I'm out here all alone In my thousand acre woods

Lyrics 5/26/20 (not sung) JOY'S BAR LADIES' LUNCH RUSH '79 (c) 2020 by Nick Bensen "Thanks, I'll have a rum and coke Wanna go have fun upstairs? Husband's gone, kids in school Honestly, nobody cares I mean to fix things up a bit But time just always gets away Don't tell my daughter you were here I couldn't think of what to say I'll call you in sick at school It's fun pretending I'm your mom But this is all just you and me Please be quiet when you're gone I never do weird things like this but ... There's something special in your smile." Now I have to drive all night Outrace the memories with the miles

Lyrics 5/23/20 (not sung) VOLARE PATROL (c) 2020 by Nick Bensen Brakes are bad The exhaust is shot Windshield fogged And running hot Moms' old cars Don't want 'em no more Fix that window And driver's door We're bad news That's no lie Every day We almost die Nothing to lose Settling scores Wasting gas And avoiding chores Look out now Slow your roll Out of the way Volare Patrol Look out now Slow your roll Out of the way Volare Patrol Throwing fireworks Car to car Getting high And sneaking in bars Anything not to Face my dad Let's all go Do something bad Feeling bored Nothing to do Let's steal A street sign or two Tripping out Across the dam Said we're studying For exams Look out now Slow your roll Out of the way Volare Patrol Look out now Slow your roll Out of the way Volare Patrol Mount Airy! Piney Point! Grand Street! 129! Look out now Slow your roll Out of the way Volare Patrol Look out now Slow your roll Out of the way Volare Patrol Oil is low Grill is cracked Two of the girls Got sick in back Tossing pizza At Fox Lane dweebs While barely meeting Our basic needs Look out now Slow your roll Out of the way Volare Patrol Look out now Slow your roll Out of the way Volare Patrol

As Crowtown Watches, So Crowtown Falls
(BE20008-2)

My satirical take on the 1981 Pat Metheny/Lyle Mays abstract fusion classic As Wichita Falls, So Falls Wichita Falls, strangely mutated into a sprawling instrumental prog rock opera reflecting on my troubled youth. So, pretty, you know ... uh, regular. Yeah.

The double album contains all of it aside from two bonus tracks "The Monkey Becomes The Witch" and "Cabin In The Caves" which appear on the alternate album The (W)hole Cro(w)to(w)n Deal along with a different longer two-part version of the main suite.

Each track has background notes and some of the songs have unsung lyrics included.
